Located a scenic 30-minute drive north of Launceston, in the heart of the West Tamar Wine Country. The Cox Family run this warm, welcoming quirky cellar door which will keep you coming back time and again to experience true Tasmanian hospitality as well as try their creative and delicious wines.

Swinging Gate loves different! While their old vines, with minimal intervention, a lot of love and hard work, produces amazing Tassie staples of sparkling, Pinot Noir & Chardonnay; you will also find some more unusual varietals, blends and methods used.

With wines for every palate and season, taste wines on the sunny terrace overlooking the vines or in the cooler months snuggle into the cosy cellar door.

If you are lucky, as you arrive, you may even be given the seal of approval by Swinging Gate’s own cover girl Nellie.

Swinging Gate also hosts degustation wine dinners on the last Friday of every month featuring local seasonal produce in conjunction with a local chef. Ensure you book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Swinging Gate also hosts Domescapes Glamping – offering you a unique chance to appreciate the peace and panoramic views waking up in a geodesic dome among the vines.

This vineyard participates in the Tamar Valley Mixed Dozen freight scheme.

Collect wine on your travels and present your purchased bottles (in dozen lots) at the last vineyard on your journey – they’ll let you know the cost of freight and it will be sent to your home address.
